Colbert FTW

A blistering comedy “tribute” to President Bush by Comedy Central’s faux talk show host Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondent Dinner Saturday night left George and Laura Bush unsmiling at its close.

Wow. He pretty much just pointed and laughed in his face...

That bit up there was cut. Here you can watch the whole thing.

Escher as a Child

Worth1000 did another of their photoshop contests. I like this submission of a grade school drawing by one M.C. Escher.

Base Jumping

I once read an article about base jumping, where a local sheriff in Australia was quoted saying he got around five phone calls a day from alarmed tourists concerning people jumping to their deaths from a highway bridge. He, in turn, would always ask: "Did they have backpacks on?" and that usually resolved the issue.

Dayvan Cowboy

A few years ago (during a shift as a guard in Germany actually) I discovered Boards of Canada through an Austrian friend.
Liking what I heard, I've since then followed up on all their releases.
This, as far as I know, is the first video they've ever released, if you don't count Salad Fingers of course...

As long as we have cats that shoot lasers out of their mouths, we'll be OK.

Israeli Army Girls

I forget sometimes that this is somewhat of an oddity to others...
The link is to a description by another guy. Strange all this, when I stop to think about it.

Pink (and some more colors)

I'm not planning to do any research on this. I'll just enjoy it as is.
Truly bizarre material here.

New Search

It seems no one was using the google search anyway, so I put up a new search box - Exploseek music search. It makes the whole index search thing much easier.

Foam

Almost all the makings for a foam party, which are just foam and a hangar really...

Waiting

I haven't heard of this movie before watching this bit (I don't think it actually aired here in Israel).
I watched it last night and it's fun - kinda clerks-like air to it. Plus it has Ryan Reynolds in it, who if you don't know you're depriving yourself of a great Canadian comic talent.

Lasik @ Home

Oh so disturbing! Right down from the snazzy '@' in the logo to the name of the device - The "Scal-Pal".

Painted Hands

My wit fails me. This is just cute.

Falcons

A pair of endangered peregrine falcons, named George and Gracie by their legions of fans, have returned to downtown San Francisco to lay four new eggs inside a planter on the 30th floor of 201 Mission Street.

Streaming video of the falcon family in their nest. And you thought your day was dull.

Suffrage

Suffrage: n. right to vote; vote cast in favor of a specific candidate

Sure, he's being sneaky. But it's funny nevertheless.

Vaults

We have all heard of Parkour, and I even watched a crappy French movie solely because it had awesome chase/parkour scenes. If you didn't catch it check out this scene.
What I didn't know though, is what a King Kong Vault is. So there's that - tutorial for the common folk.

Strange Searching Going On

It's fun sometimes to check who's linking to this page. Somewhat sadly, the task doesn't take long.... But I diverse.
Every once in a while I come across something like this.
I'm seriously intrigued now.

LENOVO Laptops

My laptop can't do anything. Stupid IBM.

[Definitely not this]

Impressive

Somebody downloaded an episode of Bleach, but 1:30 minutes in it turned into the domino effect. Pretty amazing stuff.
It looks like someone's life work.

There were numerous attempts at April 1st hoaxes and jokes across the net. Some good, some lame, as is to be expected.

Trapped In The Closet

South Park did an episode on Scientology, that demi-religion thing Tom Cruise is into. It struck a nerve apparently, 'cause Cruise threatened with legal action and the episode was pulled from Comedy Central's regular schedule.
Luckily for us though, the internet comes once again to our aid.

Notice the ending credits.

[Episode 912]

Some more info on this - here.

Best Friday Ever

So yeah.
I pretty much just sat here for hours watching that Finnish video and the Apache video trying to decide which is more craptastic.
It's like Sophie's Choice...
