Magnetic Implants
I've seen some horribly silly body mods on the net over the years. This one is actually pretty interesting sounding - the link leads to an article by a guy who had tiny magnets implanted in his hands. These allow him to feel electromagnetic fields surrounding him.
That, and maybe give him cancer.
Edit - It didn't occur to me to mention, but if the sight of a bit of blood or tiny blue stitches bothers you, think twice before clicking.

You could post a warning about the highly graphical images in that article.. As much as I love seeing people pierce their fingertips, saner people would probably disapprove.
