Holophonic Sound

So as I gather "holophonic sound" is old news and actually quite low tech - what they do is record using two microphones, and when you listen to the recorded sound with headphones it feels very much like you're there, because the mics record exactly what your ears would detect on the scene.
'Holophonic' is just the groovy name it received this century.

This here is such a recording. It only works with headphones, mind you.
That guy shaking matches all around me totally got me feeling paranoid... I had to fight the urge to look behind me.

would work nicely in scary movies.

I know! First time I listened to it I was half waiting for some scary face or scream to jump out at me. I would have soiled myself.
